Theraline
The Original Maternity and Nursing Pillow
7.2/10 overall£54.99
A long, mouldable micro-bead pillow that supports the whole body in pregnancy and doubles as a feeding pillow.
This is a genuinely different category of pillow to a shaped pregnancy wedge: a long, full-length pillow filled with moldable micro-beads that you can bend and shape around your entire body — bump, back, knees, neck — rather than relying on a fixed shape to hit specific pressure points. Because the fill is moldable rather than fixed foam, it adapts to whatever position you settle into that particular night, which some people find genuinely more comfortable across a full night's sleep than a pillow that assumes one specific position.
Against the Dreamgenii in this category, the real differentiator is what happens after birth: this pillow converts directly into a proper feeding pillow, supporting a newborn at breast or bottle height without needing a second purchase, which extends its useful life well beyond pregnancy in a way the more pregnancy-specific Dreamgenii does not. Dreamgenii is more compact and specifically shaped to encourage left-side sleeping; this is bigger, heavier, and more of a general-purpose whole-body support tool that happens to work well for pregnancy and then for feeding.
This suits anyone who wants one pillow to see them through pregnancy and into early feeding, who has the bed space to accommodate a full-length pillow (and, realistically, a partner willing to share less of the bed), and who prefers a mouldable, adaptable shape over a fixed positional one. If bed space is tight, or you specifically want the left-side-sleeping encouragement Dreamgenii is shaped to provide, the more compact option is the better fit.
The clear downsides are bulk and practicality: this takes up a lot of bed space, and at this size and weight, it is genuinely heavy and awkward to reposition compared with a smaller pillow. Washing is also more involved than a simple cover swap — the micro-bead fill makes the whole pillow awkward to machine wash, so it is worth checking the specific care instructions (usually cover-only washing, with the inner pillow spot-cleaned or aired) before assuming you can throw the whole thing in with a regular wash.
