Advansafix Pro

The Advansafix Pro is Britax Römer's core forward-facing seat for once a child is ready to face forward, covering 76-150cm (roughly 15 months to 12 years) on Isofix with a top tether, or Isofix plus the vehicle's own seatbelt for older, taller children. Its FLIP&GROW mechanism switches the seat from a 5-point harness to a highback booster with the vehicle seatbelt as the child grows, and it carries Britax's SICT side-impact and XP-PAD deceleration pad protection.

Against the Cybex Pallas G3 in this list, the two are closely matched forward-facing rivals at a similar price: the Britax leans on a conventional harness-to-booster conversion with strong side-impact hardware, while the Cybex uses an impact shield (a fold-down pad the child sits behind rather than a harness) which Cybex markets as reducing neck injury risk in a frontal crash. Neither is an extended rear-facing seat, so if you want a child to keep facing backwards past toddlerhood, look at the Movekid or Stretch² instead - both of these are strictly forward-facing options for after that stage.

It's best for parents who've already had their child rear-facing as an infant and are ready to move to a conventional forward-facing harness seat with a straightforward Isofix fit. The one real limitation is that it's forward-facing only - it doesn't offer the extended rear-facing option some safety advocates recommend for as long as possible, so it's a seat for the next stage rather than a like-for-like alternative to the ERF seats above.
