Tommee Tippee
Night Time Soother
7.2/10 overall£6.49 (2 pack)
Tommee Tippee's glow-in-the-dark silicone dummy, built on the same Closer to Nature symmetrical shape as their classic soother.
The Night Time is Tommee Tippee's take on the Closer to Nature soother with one added trick: the teat and shield glow softly in the dark after being charged under a lamp, which genuinely helps at 3am when you're patting the cot mattress trying to find a dummy that's fallen out. The symmetrical, orthodontic-shaped teat means it works whichever way up it goes into baby's mouth, so there's no fumbling to get it the 'right' way round in a dark room.
Compared with the MAM Original, the core shape and silicone feel are very similar — both are soft, symmetrical designs that most newborns accept easily — but Tommee Tippee's shield is slightly more curved to sit closer to the cheek, and the glow feature is the genuine point of difference rather than a gimmick once you've used it for a few sleepless weeks. It comes with a reusable steriliser pod rather than MAM's snap-case, which some parents find slightly fiddlier to use on the move.
This is the one to buy specifically for night-time use rather than as your only dummy, since the glow only lasts a few hours before it needs recharging under light again. For daytime use a plain silicone dummy does the job just as well for less money, so most families end up buying this as a second pack alongside a standard one rather than as their sole soother.
What we liked
- Glow-in-the-dark teat and shield genuinely help at night feeds
- Symmetrical shape works either way up in the dark
- Comes with a reusable steriliser pod
Where it falls short
- Glow only lasts a few hours before it needs recharging under light
- Not the cheapest option for a dummy used only in daylight hours
- Steriliser pod is bulkier to carry than MAM's flat case

How we scored it
Baby Acceptance
How readily babies typically take to the teat shape and stay settled with it in, based on shape, weight and how it sits against the face.
Durability
How well the dummy holds up to repeated sterilising, biting and daily wear over the months a baby uses one size.
Value for Money
Cost per dummy set against pack size, features (case, glow-in-the-dark, ventilation) and how often families end up replacing them.
Fair value if you actually need the glow feature; less good as an only dummy.
Weighted by importance for this category — see our editorial policy for how we test.
